While promoting economic and social development through production and operation activities, we firmly fulfill our political, economic, and social responsibilities. We endeavor to gain understanding and support from local governments and people for our business activities to create a favorable environment. We strive to drive employment and improve people’s livelihood through our production and operations, contributing to local economic and social development. We continuously participate in public welfare to improve local economic, educational, medical, and environmental conditions, and exert efforts on public welfare and charitable activities to enhance people’s well-being. We encourage and support our staff to engage in voluntary activities to convey our care. We give back to society and contribute to the prosperity of our country, the revitalization of our nation, the happiness of our people, and the harmonious progress of our society.

Poverty Alleviation

In active response to the call of the Party and the state for poverty alleviation, we firmly fulfill our corporate social responsibilities, contributing to the building of a well-off society in an all-round way. We have undertaken the task of pairing assistance to Tibet, Qinghai and Xinjiang as well as target-specific assistance to Inner Mongolia, Gansu and Hebei among the first group of SOEs to provide such kind of assistance since 2002. Keeping in mind the task deployed by the Party and the state, the principle of being “accurate, high-quality and long-term”, with the strong sense of responsibility, deep national sentiment and pragmatic work style, we have built a poverty alleviation model of “reducing poverty by industrial development, alignment between production and marketing, assistance in poverty elimination confidence and ability, social mobilization with the Party building as the core”. We have sent a total of 57 cadres to nine prefectures, cities, banners and counties in 6 provinces (regions). We have invested RMB 656 million into 236 assistance projects, effectively helping improve the production and living conditions of the recipient areas. We have also actively engaged in the establishment of the Central SOEs Industrial Investment Fund for Poor Areas to promote economic development and social harmony and stability in the recipient areas. By the end of March 2020, all the 9 recipients (Horinger County, Qingshuihe County, Linxi County, Dachaidan District, Delingha City, Gamba County, Aqi Banner, Gulang County and Pingshan County) in the 6 provinces and regions (Inner Mongolia, Tibet, Xinjiang, Qinghai, Gansu and Hebei) have been lifted out of poverty.

Responsibility Citizen

As citizens of society, enterprises should actively return to society while using social resources to achieve development. We follow the international development doctrine of “mutual benefit and common development” and practice our corporate citizenship throughout the “Going Global” process. We build a responsible corporate image for both ourselves and Chinese companies wherever our business goes. We pursue governance by law and operate in compliance with local laws and regulations. We strengthen the sustainable development management and explore a win-win cooperation model with the local community. We advance common development with local economy and society by cultural exchanges, localized staff management, localized procurement, public welfare sponsorship, environmental protection, and other means.
